The development of digital technology in today's era has changed the way people live in accessing and appreciating artworks and has provided opportunities for virtual gallery platforms to be used as alternative exhibition mediums. This study examines digital art spaces in the context of virtual galleries with a focus on design elements, interactivity and the aesthetic experience offered. Using a qualitative approach, this study analyses the gallery structure, multimedia integration and interactive elements that shape the overall user experience. Data was collected through observation of virtual gallery platforms, documentation of visual and interactive elements and analysis of available digital content. Findings show that intuitive design, responsive interactive media and audiovisual integration can enhance the potential for a comprehensive, immersive art experience. This study also identifies challenges in developing virtual galleries, including technical independence and the balance between interactivity and aesthetics. These findings emphasise the significance of design centred on the art experience in building an inclusive and educational virtual gallery. This study provides references for designers, curators and art educators in designing digital platforms to expand knowledge about contemporary art in Malaysia. Thus, virtual galleries serve not only as exhibition mediums but also as platforms that offer aesthetic experiences through digital means.
