AI-Powered Automated Cat Feeding System with Mobile Alerts is an AI- and IoT-based smart system developed to automate food dispensing for stray cats while providing real-time mobile notifications on food availability. The system uses an AI-enabled camera to detect the presence of cats and activates the feeder only when a cat is identified, helping to minimize food wastage and restrict access by other animals. An ultrasonic sensor monitors the cat’s movement to determine whether it is approaching the feeder for feeding or merely passing by, while a second ultrasonic sensor monitors the remaining food level. A microcontroller-based platform with Wi-Fi connectivity manages the system and enables real-time low-food notifications through the Blynk mobile application. The proposed system supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 15 (Life on Land), by promoting animal welfare, sustainable urban living, and innovative solutions for stray animal care.
