Food waste and hunger are two problems that happen at the same time. Every day, large amounts of good food are thrown away, while many people and community homes still do not have enough food. HungerSense AI is a smart platform that helps connect food donors, volunteers, and people in need to make sure surplus food reaches the right people at the right time. The system allows food donors to upload information about available food, while recipients such as low-income families, old folks’ homes, orphanages, and shelters can request the food items they need. Using artificial intelligence (AI) and Teachable Machine, the platform can recognize and classify donated food from photos, making food management faster and easier. The unique feature of HungerSense AI is its ability to identify possible food shortages before they become a problem. By tracking food stock levels and requests, the system can detect when a community home or organization is running low on food. It will then automatically send notifications to nearby donors and volunteers, encouraging them to provide support before supplies run out. The platform also includes a volunteer delivery network that helps collect and deliver food to recipients efficiently. This reduces food waste and ensures that food reaches those who need it most. HungerSense AI supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially Zero Hunger (SDG 2). By combining technology, community support, and AI, the project helps create a caring, sustainable, and hunger-free community for everyone.
