Haiwan Go is proposed as a digital game-based learning application aimed at enhancing engagement and motivation among preschool and lower primary students in interactive learning environments. Many young learners tend to lose focus when exposed to traditional teaching methods such as textbooks, worksheets, and flashcards, which may not align with their preference for visual, auditory, and interactive learning experiences. In addition, a study published in the Malaysian Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities highlights those preschool teachers face challenges in implementing play-based learning, which may increase stress levels and reduce their motivation and confidence. In response to these issues, Haiwan Go is designed by integrating game elements such as missions, rewards, audio-visual features, and interactive storytelling to create a more engaging learning experience. Conceptually, this approach is expected to improve students’ interest, engagement, and understanding, while also supporting teachers in delivering more effective and interactive lessons. Therefore, further empirical research is recommended to evaluate the effectiveness of this application in actual teaching and learning contexts.
