ABSTRACT
This study aims to develop eco-friendly sambrani using biodegradable materials such as dried flowers, fruit waste, and herbs. The research question investigates whether natural materials can produce sambrani that is effective as a fragrance and mosquito repellent while remaining safe for health and the environment. The hypothesis states that combining natural ingredients will result in a non-toxic, sustainable, and functional product. The methodology involved producing three types of sambrani: Floral (rose, jasmine, marigold), Citrus (orange peel, amla, vilvam), and Spices (sandalwood, clove, cinnamon, cardamom), all prepared using a natural base of patchai karpuram, ghee, and rose water. Each type was tested for aroma quality, mosquito-repelling properties, and user comfort. The analysis showed that sandalwood, clove, cinnamon, cardamom, amla, and vilvam possess mosquito-repelling properties, while rose, jasmine, marigold, and orange peel provide a pleasant fragrance. The prepared sambrani produces a soothing aroma, does not irritate the eyes, and is safe for daily use. In conclusion, this eco-friendly sambrani successfully integrates traditional practices with sustainable innovation, reduces environmental waste, and supports health and well-being. This project aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and falls under the field of Environmental Science.
