SeedCycle Paper is a simple, eco-friendly, zero-cost innovation that transforms waste paper and food waste into biodegradable, plantable paper. The project addresses the problem of paper and food waste, which contributes to environmental pollution and landfill overflow. The objectives are to recycle waste paper, reuse food waste seeds, reduce pollution, and produce paper capable of supporting plant growth. Waste paper is soaked in water and blended into pulp. Eggshells, garlic skin, and pencil shavings are then added to improve the texture and nutrient value of the material. Seeds from food waste, such as chilli and tomato, are mixed into the pulp before the mixture is shaped into sheets and dried under sunlight. The finished paper can be planted in soil and watered, allowing the embedded seeds to germinate and grow. Observations show seed swelling by Day 3, small sprouts by Day 5, and healthy seedlings with leaves by Day 7. The project demonstrates an approach to waste reduction and resource reuse using available materials. It supports Sustainable Development Goals 12 and 13 by promoting responsible consumption, production, and climate action. Overall, SeedCycle Paper demonstrates how everyday waste can be transformed into a product while encouraging sustainable living and greener communities.
