PROBLEM STATEMENT: The mole concept remains a major learning barrier in chemistry due to difficulties in visualising and connecting abstract relationships among moles, particles, mass and gas volume. These challenges often result in misconceptions, low confidence and weak quantitative problem-solving skills. SOLUTION: To address this issue, a team from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia, developed MolXplore Kit, a hybrid, student-centred digital learning innovation that transforms abstract mole concepts into visual, interactive and meaningful learning experiences. HOW PRODUCT WORKS: MolXplore Kit integrates an interactive activity manual, tangible teaching models, structured notes and guided questions through three scaffolded, analogy-driven hands-on activities. Its digital platform extends these learning experiences beyond the classroom, providing flexible, self-paced and multimodal access across devices. This physical-digital integration bridges concrete experiences with abstract chemical representations, enhances conceptual understanding, reduces calculation anxiety and promotes active engagement. COMMERCIALISATION: Validated in an authentic classroom environment, MolXplore Kit has reached Technology Readiness Level 6, demonstrating high usability and strong user acceptance. Its reusable resources, accessible digital platform, low-cost scalable design and established industry support offer strong potential for nationwide and global adoption across diverse educational settings.
